Terms of use
Last updated [DATE]About these terms
These terms cover your use of Ebb Deck, the website, the web app and the iPhone app, provided by Ebbdeck Ltd (company number 17268664, registered office London). By creating an account you agree to them.
Your account
- Accounts are for one person. Don't share your login.
- One account works on the website and in the iPhone app.
- You can be logged in to the website on 2 browsers and to the app on 2 iPhones at once. Logging in on another one signs out the oldest.
- Keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
Free tier, website passes and App Store passes
- The free tier gives access to 100 questions, the same on the website and in the app.
- A website pass is a one-off payment for a fixed period. It does not renew automatically. Buying another pass adds its time to the end of your current one.
- In the iPhone app you can buy the same lengths as App Store passes. These are one-off purchases sold and billed by Apple under Apple's terms. They do not renew automatically, so there is nothing to cancel. Buying another App Store pass adds its time to the end of your current App Store pass.
- Refunds for App Store passes are handled by Apple, not by us, and are not covered by the refund terms below. If Apple refunds an App Store pass, the time it added to your account is removed.
- A website pass and an App Store pass each unlock both the website and the app for the account they are linked to. If you have both, you have access until the later of the two end dates. An App Store pass can be linked to one Ebb Deck account only.
- If you subscribed in an earlier version of the iPhone app, that App Store subscription keeps unlocking your account until Apple tells us it has ended. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
- Website prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars. App Store prices are set by Apple in your local currency and may differ. [VAT AND SALES TAX STATEMENT]
Cancellations and refunds
You can try 100 questions free, with full explanations, before you buy anything. This section covers passes bought on the website. Purchases made in the iPhone app are handled by Apple, and refunds for them go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we can't refund them ourselves.
Your right to cancel
Under the law of England and Wales, which governs these terms, you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. For digital content such as a pass, that right ends once access starts, as long as you have agreed to this. At checkout we ask you to confirm that you want your pass to start straight away and that you understand you lose the right to cancel once it does. Your pass starts as soon as your payment goes through, and we confirm your agreement in your confirmation email.
Our 14-day refund promise
If a pass isn't right for you, we'll still give you a full refund if you ask within 14 days of buying it and you have answered fewer than 100 questions since you bought it. This is on top of your legal rights.
If something goes wrong
If the site or app doesn't work properly or isn't as described, tell us and we'll fix it. If we can't fix it within a reasonable time, or the problem stopped you using your pass, we'll give you a full or partial refund depending on how much you were affected. These are your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and nothing in these terms affects them.
What we don't refund
- Unused time on a pass after the 14-day refund period, for example if you take the exam early or change your plans.
- Passes on accounts we have suspended for breaking these terms, such as sharing a login or copying questions.
How to ask for a refund
Email hello@ebbdeck.com from the address on your account and tell us which pass it's for. We'll reply within 5 working days. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 days of us approving them. When a pass is refunded, the time it added to your account is removed.
Acceptable use
Don't copy, scrape, resell or publish the questions or explanations, including by extracting them from the app, and don't try to get around the device limit or access controls. We may suspend accounts that do.

[LIMITATION OF LIABILITY WORDING] Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and governing law
